iPhone

Follow the workflow below on your iPhone. Use the Mac notes for desktop-specific controls.

iPad

The same workflow applies on iPad. Editing controls may appear beside the canvas in a wide window instead of below it.

Make a video composition

1. Import an actual video clip through Add Photos & Videos. A still photograph remains a still unless you bring in moving media.
2. Select the clip and open Photo to find the clip controls. Adjust the trim and review playback before export.
3. Use Layout and Frame for the page’s arrangement and background. Add text or other design details as needed.
4. Open Export and review the video output settings. Video pages export as MP4; still pages export as image files.

A project can contain both photo and video pages. Check the output type for each page. For a long or high-resolution clip, allow processing to finish before closing the app.

Mac

Import clips through File → Import Photos and Videos…. Select the clip in your page and use the inspector for its controls. File → Export… includes a Video disclosure with Video Width. Save to Photos or export to a folder.
