Instagram, Threads, Aura, and YouTube

Prepare finished files for the place you share.

iPhone

Follow the workflow below on your iPhone. Use the Mac notes for desktop-specific controls.

iPad

The same workflow applies on iPad. Editing controls may appear beside the canvas in a wide window instead of below it.

Instagram and Threads

  1. Set the page shape in Layout: a portrait page for a feed post, a tall 9:16 page for a Story, or multiple pages for a carousel.
  2. Arrange each page and review the crop. Keep text away from areas the destination app may cover with controls.
  3. Export your finished images, then select them in order in the destination app. Copy captions separately from Caption.

Aura Frames

Decks creates finished image files that you upload through the Aura app. It does not connect to your Aura account. You can prepare a single photograph, a pair, or a composition with a background and border.

  1. Match the frame’s shape. Set your page to landscape 16:10 for Carver or Carver Mat. For Aspen, Walden, and Ink, use landscape 4:3 or portrait 3:4 to match how the frame is positioned. In builds without named Aura choices, use these ratios in the layout controls.
  2. Arrange your photographs. Try two vertical photos side by side, a single photo with a soft background, or a thin border. Review the crop and keep text large enough to read from across the room.
  3. Save and upload. Export the composition as an image, save it to Photos, then select that finished image in the Aura app. The two photos in a paired Decks export are already combined into one file.
  4. Use it again. Save the design as a Decks template and apply it to your next photographs.

If the image does not fit as expected, check the Decks page ratio, the frame’s orientation, and the crop in Aura. Keep your original photographs so you can adjust the composition later.

Photographs for YouTube edits

Use a 16:9 page when you want a landscape composition for an edit. Save a template to keep successive photographs consistent, export the files, and import them into your video editor. Decks does not upload to YouTube.

Mac

The destination uses your exported files, not a direct connection to Decks. Set the page ratio in Layout, then use File → Export… → Export to Folder… or Save to Photos.
