Start with the steps below. Editing tools appear beneath the canvas; tap the active tool to hide or show its controls.
iPad
Use the same task steps. The sidebar gives you access to Layout Builder, Templates, and Projects. In a wide editor window, controls can sit alongside the canvas; narrower windows use the compact panel. A missing control may be inside a collapsed section or the page’s options.
Choose a border
- In the walkthrough’s frame step, or the editor’s Frame controls, choose None, Plain, or Film where supported.
- Plain gives you border color and thickness. None removes the frame. Switching styles remembers your settings so you can compare them.
- Change the background separately from the border. Background → Color includes White, Black, Ivory, colors sampled from the selected photo, and a custom picker. Choose Photo or Video to replace the background image or clip.
Film edges
- Choose Film, then tap a stock preview and adjust the border width. Film is a frame choice; Strip and Contact Sheet remain layouts.
- Open Film Options for the format, sprockets, edge lettering, and other film details. Choose stock lettering or your own text.
- New film borders fit around your current photo proportions and crop. Older film projects keep their original appearance.
Add depth
- Gallery Print offers a shadow during the walkthrough. Turn it on and adjust its strength to lift the photo from the background.
- In the editor, open Frame → Depth to adjust the shadow. Double-tap an adjustment slider or use its Reset control to return to the template’s starting value.
Mac
Open Frame in the editor’s inspector. Border and background are separate choices: changing the background does not remove the border. Select the page scope before changing layout or frame settings, and use Edit → Undo if you change more pages than intended.
