Contact Sheet or Proof Sheet?

Start with the steps below. Editing tools appear beneath the canvas; tap the active tool to hide or show its controls.

iPad

Use the same task steps. The sidebar gives you access to Layout Builder, Templates, and Projects. In a wide editor window, controls can sit alongside the canvas; narrower windows use the compact panel. A missing control may be inside a collapsed section or the page’s options.

A Contact Sheet is your design

1. Choose Contact Sheet in Layout Builder to arrange multiple photos together on a page. Keep its film edges, switch to Plain, or choose None.
2. Open Export to save the sheet as you designed it. You’ll see Your Contact Sheet; each sheet becomes an image. Removing the film border does not change this behavior.

A Proof Sheet is an export option

1. For other projects, Export offers Pages or Proof Sheet. Choose Pages for the individual finished page designs.
2. Choose Proof Sheet to make a compact overview of the project’s pages. Open Proof Sheet Details for its options.
3. You do not need to make a proof sheet to export a Contact Sheet template. Its layout is already the sheet.

Mac

Export a Contact Sheet design through File → Export…. For a separate overview of a project’s pages, choose File → Export Proof Sheet…. These are different outputs; a proof sheet is not required to save a contact-sheet design.
